The Ministry of Commerce (“MOC”) and the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (“MPTC”) jointly issued a Notification on the Launching of Standard QR Code for Verification via “verify.gov.kh” on the “Certificate of Incorporation” on 7 August 2024 (“Notification”).

This notification seeks to support the objectives outlined in the Cambodian government's digital policies, as well as the Sub-decree No. 52 released last year regarding the introduction of the "verify.gov.kh" portal ("Portal").

Standard QR Code on COI: A standard QR code will be incorporated into the Certificate of Incorporation (“COI”) provided by the MOC. By scanning this QR code with a smartphone camera, the authenticity of the COI can be swiftly verified with a high degree of security and precision.

Elimination of Legalized Paper Copies: The COI featuring the standard QR code can be utilized officially, eliminating the need for legalized paper copies (which has typically been done by businesses and the general public at the capital-provincial hall).
